Mazda MX-30 is an electric crossover with distinctive doors and an innovative design. The reach is not great, so Mazda came up with a new idea and equipped the machine with a reach extender. Now the MX-30 consumes not only electricity, but also gasoline and is called R-EV.
Nominally, the R-EV is considered a plug-in hybrid, as the charging sockets are found on the right side. But there is a second cap on the left, which is the gate to the 50 liter fuel tank. The internal combustion engine is located under the hood, but not connected to the wheels.
Technically, this means that this car still runs on electricity, but the battery is half the size of the electric MX-30. 17.8 kWh versus 35.5 kWh. However, there is a small fuel tank that allows up to 600 km. Since the battery is as big as most current plug-in hybrids, the electric range is not great – around 85 km.
