Metsatek has invested more than a million euros in the production plant and new equipment :: Dienas Bizness

“Metsatek” company, which manufactures wooden carrier bodies, has invested more than one million euros in a large-sized painting and scrutinizing chamber, a CNC metal bending press and robotic welding equipment, as well as in the reconstruction of production facilities, company representatives inform.

Improvements allow the company to increase production volumes. In addition, 10 new jobs have been created and the working environment for employees has been improved.

Of the total investments, 638,354 euros are attributable to the purchase of four new production equipment. The investments were acquired in cooperation with the Investment and Development Agency of Latvia in the project “Creation of new technology for the introduction of modular timber carrier bodies in production”, in which “Metsatek” receives a grant of 351,095 euros from Norway.

On the other hand, more than 400,000 euros from “Metsatek” funds were invested in the reconstruction of buildings and territory. During the project, two new production workshops, a well-equipped technical area and increased security conditions of the territory were built.

The purpose of the investment project is to promote the productivity, exportability and competitiveness of “Metsatek” by introducing into production a new product – a collapsible aluminum/steel log carrier body with a unique constructive solution, as well as to introduce innovative technologies, thus reducing the impact on the environment.

The company “Metsatek” is one of the largest companies for the production of log truck superstructures in the Baltics, carrying out full-cycle project implementation, starting from a specially designed technical solution to production and construction. Since 2007, the company has additionally been providing chip and other wood transportation solutions with full service. Currently, almost half of the production is exported to Estonia, Lithuania, Sweden and Great Britain.

The company’s turnover in 2023 reached 7.917 million euros, while the company’s profit was 477,366 euros. The company “Metsatek” was registered in 2007, and its share capital is 45,528 euros. The owner of the company is Viesturs Spila.
