He received compliments for his song and voice, but his stage outfits for two Supernova appearances drew more criticism than praise.
When he took the stage in the semi-finals of Supernova in a light brown jacket and trousers, many criticized the outfit as too casual for such a big musical event.
In the final, Don performed already in a bright blue outfit. But even that didn’t seem good enough to the critics.
Many joked that Don might have borrowed the outfit from a medical worker, other aspersions came up with the fact that car mechanics usually wear such outfits, but some good ones saw a similarity with the prison uniform.
Multi-artist Kašers took care of Don’s visual image in Supernova, and he was entrusted with preparing the costume of the representative of Latvia for Eurovision as well.
In a conversation with “Privatā Dzīve” edition, Kasher is very secretive: “Unfortunately, I can’t reveal what Don will be wearing. Until he steps on the Eurovision stage, I have to keep it a secret.
What can I promise, Don’s stage outfit will be a surprise to many.”
On Monday, April 29, shortly before leaving for Malmö, Don said that none of what is seen in Supernova will be on the Eurovision big stage – if only the color of the clothes. He revealed that there were several versions of the outfit.
