According to the researcher, the lack of soldiers is the factor that will most significantly affect the development of the situation at the front in the next three to four months. At the end of this period, new mobilized soldiers should begin to appear on the front line. By reducing the training time, they can get to the front sooner, but in that case, Ukraine can end up in the same position as Russia in September 2022, the expert thinks.

The expert emphasizes that the superiority of Russian forces and the intensity of attacks on Ukrainian positions is increasing. “Ukraine has not yet experienced the darkest hour, everything is just beginning,” Muzika warned.

It has already been reported that representatives of the Russian Ministry of Defense told journalists during the press conference that the Russian army “as a result of active operations” managed to capture the village of Semenivka in the Donetsk region.

Semenivka is located ten kilometers from the village of Avdiyivka, which was captured by the Russian army on February 10, 2024. The battle for the village has been going on since February 2024.

Ukraine has not yet commented on this information.

The commander-in-chief of the Ukrainian army, Oleksandr Sirsky, has announced that the situation at the front has worsened and the Russians are actively attacking along the entire length of the front line, achieving tactical success in some directions.

Therefore, the Ukrainians retreated to new defense lines west of Berdychi, Semenivka and Novomykhailivka.

“The most difficult situation is in the direction of Pokrovsk and Kurakhove, where fierce battles continue. The enemy has engaged up to four brigades in these directions and is trying to develop an attack to the west of Avdiyivka and Marjinka, moving towards Pokrovsk and Kurakhove,” Sirskis writes on his Telegram app channel.

The Ukrainian army inflicts maximum losses on the enemy both in terms of manpower and military equipment. In order to strengthen the defense in these districts and to replace the units that suffered losses, they are being replaced by brigades that have regained their combat capabilities, says Sirskis.
