“It is clear that there will be colder days in May, there will be frost, and these future warm days do not mean that there will be endless heat until autumn,” explains LTV weather news editor Toms Bricis in the “Morning Panorama” program.
“Today, the average daily temperature will be the first 15 degrees in Zemgale. And for at least 5 days in Zemgale, this warmth will last. The latest forecasts show that the heat will last even longer until the coolness returns again. Never before in Latvia has this happened in April – the meteorological summer was previously recorded around May 9, 13,” said Toms Bricis.
On both Tuesday and Wednesday, short-term rain is expected in some places, there is also a possibility of a thunderstorm and locally some heavy downpour, reports lsm.lv
The air temperature on Tuesday and Wednesday nights will be in the range of 6…13 degrees, but in the afternoons up to 17…23 degrees, in some places on the coast, as the wind blows from the water side, it will be noticeably cooler.
The forecast for the second half of the week is still variable, but it is likely that the warm weather will continue until at least Saturday, May 4, with the second half of the week being dry.
