At the Beijing Motor Show, the Japanese automobile company Mazda demonstrated two new products: sedan EZ-6 and crossover Arata.
The EZ-6 was developed in cooperation with China’s Changan, is intended for the local market and will go on sale by the end of this year. The 4,921 mm long sedan will replace the Mazda 6, will be available as a fully electric vehicle with a range of up to 600 kilometers or in a rechargeable hybrid version with an internal combustion engine and the ability to drive more than 1,000 kilometers without additional resources. The car has a five-seater cabin and rear-wheel drive. Other data about the EZ-6 Mazda is not disclosed.
The Mazda Arata electric crossover is still under development. Like the EZ-6, this model is being developed together with Changan engineers and is expected to go on sale by the end of 2025. The Mazda KODO design language is used for the exterior and visually the car resembles the CX-5 and CX-30. The most characteristic elements are the design of the wing-shaped lights at the front, “invisible” front body pillars, sloping and wide rear pillars with a roof spoiler and the third brake light lamp. Instead of side mirrors, there are video cameras, but MAZDA written in printed letters can also be seen on the side panels.
