Today, April 25, 2024, the Riga Eastern Clinical University Hospital (Eastern Hospital) was admitted for the 13th time with the charity project M-Help.com soldiers who were seriously injured in the Ukrainian war brought by organized aid buses. This time, 14 seriously injured traveled the long way to treatment in Latvia.

As usual, patients from Ukraine were welcomed at Eastern Hospital by a multidisciplinary medical team – doctors of various specialties and nursing staff from the Emergency Medicine and Patient Admission Clinic (NMPUK), Traumatology and Orthopedics Clinic, and General and Emergency Surgery Clinic.

All patients underwent a comprehensive health screening – various diagnostic and laboratory examinations, also checking for the possible presence of multiresistant infections. After the examination at NMPUK, depending on the specifics of the injuries, the patients will go to other Latvian medical institutions.

Patients injured in the Ukrainian war are brought to the Eastern Hospital thanks to a charity project M-Help.com for the private initiative of the founders Arvja Reketas and Mārtiņš Medinieks. On the other hand, the charity foundation of Georgiys Logvinskas, which operates in Ukraine, has equipped and rebuilt a bus with which these patients are transported.
