Foreign media reports that the Russian military court “Meta” press secretary Andy Stone (Andy Stone) has been secretly sentenced to six years in prison for “public advocacy of terrorism”. This verdict is, of course, planned to be appealed.

A Moscow court issued an arrest warrant for Stone in February on several terrorism-related charges. It was claimed that the press secretary of “Meta” engaged in the promotion of terrorist activities, publicly inciting to engage in terrorist, extremist activities, as well as justified terrorism.

The decision to sentence Stone to prison was made after the Russian Investigative Committee launched an investigation against “Meta” in March 2022. It is claimed that the press secretary of “Meta” has “allowed the publication of posts inciting violence against the Russian army” on the company’s platforms. Specifically, some posts that would previously have been removed for inciting violence remained on Facebook. Russia classified this action as an act of terrorism against its army.

Also, we have previously written that Russia has already recognized “Meta” as an extremist organization. Soon after the invasion of Ukraine in late February 2022, Russia blocked access to Facebook and Instagram.
