At the end of April, Linda, a resident of Salaspil, felt a sore cheek, so she decided to seek the help of a dentist. Linda found on the Internet that the only clinic that accepts patients on holidays is the dental practice of Dr. Julia Katkevičas in the capital, “Bez Tabu” reports.
After taking an X-ray, the doctor announced that two teeth need to have their canals cleaned, which will cost around 1,000 euros.
Linda has decided to pull out the tooth anyway. The patient was injected with anesthesia, and while waiting for it to take effect, the doctor announced that she would have to pay 410 euros, which surprised the woman a little.
The doctor gave Linda anesthesia three times.
At the time of paying the bill, Linda did not pay attention to the amount that the doctor mentioned above. Only when she got home, the woman started researching the cost of anesthesia on the dentistry website.
For Linda, the clinic does not provide an explanation why the anesthesia cost 133 euros, when the website states that this service only costs 10 euros. She feels cheated, only to find several negative reviews on the Internet after visiting the dentist.
The doctor of the clinic, Raivis Kokainis, explains to us that the administrator had made a mistake in the prescription and had not indicated what kind of anesthesia was used for Linda. The amount was correct, because the woman was given regional anesthesia twice – each cost 47 euros, while infiltration anesthesia cost 39 euros.
