Live broadcasts of the World Hockey Championship games at Dome Square
In order for Riga residents and guests of the city to be able to follow the World Hockey Championship and Latvian men’s hockey national team matches, live public viewing of the championship will be held on May 10 in Dome Square.
Public viewing of live broadcasts will begin on Friday, May 10, while the first games of the Latvian hockey team this weekend are scheduled for May 11 at 5:20 p.m. and May 12 at 5:20 p.m.
Dome Square will be adapted and landscaped for public viewing of live broadcasts, benches and a large screen will be placed.

Fan tent near Arena Riga
During the entire World Championship, from May 10 to 25, come to the Fan tent of the Latvian hockey team near Arena Rīga and enjoy the live game broadcasts, emotions and competitions together with the loudest and most active fans.
Fan zone in the Esplanade
On May 11 at 16.00, go to the Esplanade, where the ceremonial opening of the “OlyBet Sports Bar” fan zone will take place. There will be delicious food and refreshing drinks, as well as various fun activities and performances. Air hockey, hockey challenges with prizes, musical performances by DJ M&M, Jānis Runģa. The event will be chaired by Sandis Miltovičs.
Watch the first game at 17.00 against the Polish national team. The fan zone will be available for all matches of the Latvian national team.
Hockey spring in “VEF Quarter”
“Hockey Spring in the VEF Quarter” will take place at the VEF Promenade, Únijas Street 8, Riga, from May 10 to May 26.
A large stage and screen will be installed in the well-maintained area of the VEF Promenade specially for the World Hockey Festival, the area will be decorated according to the festival – an open bar, street food zone, there will be thought of various activities for big and small.

The hockey spring will be opened on May 11 at 5:15 p.m. by the residents of VEF Kvartālās, the Veizāna Dance School, transferring their youthful energy to the hockey players. On the other hand, after the game, the guests will be entertained by a sports-style mini Stand-up with Rūdolfs Kugrėnas, and after the Latvian games, the DJs of “Red Bull” will take care of the party.
While the parents are enjoying the hockey game, the children will be engaged in special introductory training sessions at “The Spot” center, where young people will be able to try various sports under the guidance of a coach and familiarize themselves with the possibilities of “The Spot” center. Reservation of places by sending an e-mail to [email protected] or by phone 26148671. The price of the lesson is 15 euros (the price includes training, supervision, inventory and entrance ticket).
The organizers of the event invite visitors to follow the safety rules of the area by leaving children’s bicycles and scooters at home. It will not be allowed to bring drinks and food into the area.
It will be possible to park the car in the territory of “VEF Quarter” or in the parking lot of TC “Domina”.
Thinking about a nature-friendly event, a deposit system will operate in the bars of “VEF Kvartāla”.

Hockey Live “Forum Cinemas”
From May 11, Forum Cinemas offers to watch the World Hockey Championship live. The cinema will broadcast all the games of subgroup B with the participation of the Latvian hockey team, bronze medalists of the 2023 championship, the first of which will take place on May 11 at 17.20 against the Polish team.
Further live broadcasts of matches with France, Kazakhstan, Germany, Sweden, Slovakia and the USA are expected. Spectators are invited to join the screenings to support the Latvian national team on their way to success.
