More than 40 people have been evacuated from buildings in two fires in Riga / Article

at At 8:32 p.m., a call was received to Zvātuņu street in Riga, where a 10-square-meter door on the fourth floor of a six-story residential building was on fire.

Before the arrival of VUGD, 30 people evacuated from the building. Firefighters rescued two people.

at At 20.58, the fire was extinguished, currently firefighters are still working at the scene.

On the other hand, nine minutes after this call, VUGD received a call to the nearby Laboratorijas Street, where a two-story wooden building caught fire.

Firefighters rescued two people from the building using a car ladder, and two more people were rescued by employees of the State Police before the arrival of VUGD.

Two people were injured in the fire, and they were handed over to the EMS medics, while 13 people evacuated from the building on their own. Neighboring houses were also checked, but there was no smoke and evacuation was not necessary.

More than 35 firefighters with eight tankers and three tankers took part in the fire fighting. At the moment, the work at the scene continues and after the localization of the fire, the burning area will be clarified, as well as information about the victims and rescued people may be clarified.
