Author: The 4th Kurzeme Brigade of the National Guard
On May 11 and 12, in Usmas Parish of Ventspils County and įbuļi Parish of Talsu County, planned training of the National Guard units of the 4th Kurzeme Brigade 46th Infantry Battalion to maintain and improve their combat capabilities will take place.
The purpose of the training is to improve and maintain the acquired skills for effective operation in the area at any time of the day, performing military training tasks.
The training will take place in areas agreed with JSC “Latvijas valsts meži”, municipalities of Ventspils and Talsi counties.
The National Guard does not discriminate based on nationality, education, specialty or experience. The candidate must be a citizen of Latvia between the ages of 18 and 60, with knowledge of the national language at least at the intermediate (B1) level, with an appropriate state of health and initial physical fitness. Candidate requirements can be found on the website of the National Guard at www.esizemessargs.lv or www.zs.mil.lv.
To apply for service in the National Guard, residents of Talsu region, Ventspils state city and region are invited to call 25627389 or write to e-mail [email protected]or come personally to the unit – Ventspils district, Vārve parish “Vanagi”.

Attention residents!
During the training, in Usmas Parish of Ventspils County and įbuļi Parish of Talsu County, National Guardsmen will use training ammunition that produces sound, but does not threaten people’s life or health in any way. The training places will be cleaned after the training.
During the training, temporary movement of military transport is possible on the roads in Ventspils and Talsa counties.
