“The first reaction was that someone was playing a prank on us!” says Tom Simsons, co-owner of the domestic company “Modern Nomad”. The products created by the company have been included in the beach collection of the French luxury fashion house “Dior”, writes the publication “Kas Jauns”.
This week, the fashion house presented its latest collection of men’s beachwear, “I see the sea”, offering t-shirts, polo shirts, pullovers, sandals, accessories, as well as a hammock and stand-up paddle.
As it turns out, the hammock included in the collection was created by Latvians! It is important to Dior that the product is made in Europe and they were interested in our sleeping nets. And then here in Latvia we sewed hammocks for their latest collection according to our own cuts, but with “Dior” fabric,” says Simsons about the unique opportunity.
We thought that email was something from the usual “Nigerian Prince” scammers offering fake millions,
laughs the businessman.
