The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine has appointed a digital personality named Victoria Shi, who is created with the help of artificial intelligence, based on a real person, to be able to provide official information on various consular issues, Ukrainian media “UNN.ua” reported.

“For the first time in history, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine has created a digital personality that, using artificial intelligence technologies, officially comments on consular information for the media. The representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in consular affairs, Victoria Shea, is based on a real person – Ukrainian singer Rosalie Nombre, who agreed pro bono [vispārējā labuma vārdā] to act as a representative prototype,” the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine announced on social media. The project team filmed and digitized it as instructed.
“It is important to note that the consular representative and her real prototype are two different persons, and only the digital person Victoria Shea makes official comments on behalf of the consular service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs,” the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine detailed.
“My name symbolizes our main goal – the victory of Ukraine, and my surname – Shi – is artificial intelligence [ukraiņu valodā mākslīgais intelekts – штучний інтелект; red.piez.], who created me. My task will be to convey to the public the operational and verified information of the Consular Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine,” digital personality Victoria Shea said in her congratulatory video message, writes “UNN.ua”
