RFS midfielder Roberts Savalnieks was third with 33 points, 30 points were collected by his teammate defender Petrs Mareš, another RFS defensive lineman Žigas Lipušček had 14 points, and “Valmiera” defender Daniels Balodis scored 13 points.

23-year-old Orols kept the goal in eight out of nine games for Daugavpils, not playing against RFS, which rents the footballer to the Latgale team. Orols remained undefeated in five matches, while “Daugavpils” scored three victories and drew three times in these matches.

Orols is only the second goalkeeper who has won the best player of the month award since 2021, when Rihards Matrevic succeeded in the month of June, representing “Valmiera” at that time.

Candidates for the best player of the month are determined by the Latvian Football Federation (LFF) Coaches Council and the “Latvijas Futbola Virslīga” association. After that, the voting of Latvian sports journalists and fans on social networks will take place.

Meanwhile, RFS head coach Morozs, whose team is in the first position after the first round, has been recognized as the best coach of March-April.

Determining the best coach is within the competence of the LFF Coaches Council.
