The municipality of Gulbene region has made a decision to support nine camps with funding this summer.

10 applications were submitted in the competition for camp projects announced by the Education Board of Gulbene region, during which it was possible to apply for municipal co-financing for the organization of children’s camps this summer.

You have to pay the participation fee

There is a supported camp “Mysteries of the School of Friends”, which invites participants aged between 7 and 16 years. During the camp, its participants will be able to get to know the history of Druvienas school through interesting stories, objects, and practical activities, they will learn new skills in various subjects by completing school assignments from the past year, learning creative skills in working with colors, paper, and natural materials. The camp will be held from July 29 to August 2. (Ineta Mača, 29613929, e-mail [email protected]). Participation fee – 20 euros.

The Gulbene County Library invites you to participate in the camp “Following Clues 5”. The camp is intended for children from 9 to 12 years old. There will be an opportunity to get to know the county’s parish libraries, cultural and historical places, local enterprising people, and get involved in outdoor activities. Five trips to the parishes of Lizum, Druvien, Galgauska, Jaungulbene and Ranka are planned during the camp. Time: August 5 to 9. (Solvita Lībere, 28370562, e-mail [email protected]). Participation fee – 30 euros.

A camp will be held in Gulbene “Take nature by the hand”. In the course of it, children aged 7 to 9 years will have the opportunity to engage in diverse sports activities, improve their knowledge of nature, ecology, sustainable lifestyle, and participation. The camp will be held from August 5 to 9. (Irēna Aizpure, 26559118, e-mail [email protected]). Participation fee – 35 euros. Another camp in Gulbene – “Nature detective”. During it, children aged between 10 and 13 will have the opportunity to get acquainted with the natural and environmental objects of the immediate surroundings, supplement their knowledge, learn new skills, be creative, research, discuss, participate in team games. The camp will take place from August 12 to 16. (Irene Aizpure). Participation fee – 35 euros.

Young people between the ages of 15 and 18 are invited to participate in the camp “Lost in the Mountain 2024”. During it, you will have the opportunity to get to know the specifics of the work of the National Guard, the State Border Guard, the Latvian State Police, the State Fire and Rescue Service, as well as the opportunity to learn the skills of setting up a camp, orientation and survival in a forest area, working in a team, going on a hike. The camp will be held from August 5 to 9. (Ieva Milne, 28328499, e-mail [email protected]). Participation fee – 15 euros. In Lejascieme, there will be a camp “Sporto esi khutsik 4”, during which you will have the opportunity to meet, get to know each other and gain new experiences in various sports, improve your knowledge of sports and lead a healthy lifestyle. Age: 9 to 13 years. Time: August 12 to 16. (Ieva Milne). Participation fee – 10 euros.

Closed camps – for a specific target group of participants

From the 3rd to the 7th of August, there will also be a closed camp for the members of the folklore group “Dzīpariņi” of the Ranka elementary school to improve their skills and knowledge in creative workshops, playing musical instruments, singing, storytelling and dance lessons, in preparation for the international folklore festival “Baltica 2025″, the traditional dance competition ” Let’s dance 2025″, for the storytellers’ competition “Teci, teci valodiņa”. From June 10 to 14, a closed camp “Attention, readiness, summer!” will be held. For the students of Tirza elementary school, during which there will be nature cognition lessons, activities in video creation and editing, creative visual plastic lessons, improvement of cooperation and practical skills.

From July 9 to 13, a closed camp “Gulbenes Velo fans” will be held for students of the BMX and cross-country skiing group of the Children and Youth Sports School of the Gulbene region. During the camp, the children will learn a non-traditional training process in different places of Gulbene, Alūksne and Madona regions, combined with hiking, learning survival skills in the forest and excursions.
