Half a hundred residents bring their favorite book to the Gulbene county library – Gulbene county – Dzirkstele.lv

On April 26, the Gulbene County Library held a flash sale called “Make time for a book!”. Everyone interested was invited to come to the library, bringing their favorite book with them. The promotion lasted only 15 minutes. It was a short gathering of book friends, after which everyone could go about their daily routines again.

The participants of the campaign were addressed by library employee Ilvita Kļaviņa, who reminded the well-known truth: “Reading books not only provides information, but also reduces stress, improves memory, expands vocabulary, improves analytical and concentration abilities.”

“Dzirkstele” observed that representatives of different generations responded to the campaign, who discussed what they had read, shared their impressions, and showed each other which book was their favorite. Many captured this event in selfies, but the county library also invited everyone to take a group photo. The participants of the campaign stood in front of the library in such a way that the shape of a heart was formed. Photographer Aleksandrs Lustik captured this moment while on the lift provided by the event organizers.

Live music performed by Krišjānis Upānas sounded to the delight of the participants of the event.
