“I thank Latvia and Prime Minister Evika Siliņa for today’s decision to provide a new military aid package with a special emphasis on the delivery of additional air defense systems and drones,” Zelenskis wrote. The President of Ukraine stated: “We highly value Latvia’s stable support to Ukraine in the amount of 0.25% of GDP per year, as well as the clarity of the goal.”

“Russia threatens the existence of every European citizen, not only Ukraine. By protecting the lives of Ukrainians from Russian terror, we are protecting the entire Euro-Atlantic community for decades to come,” emphasized the President of Ukraine. “Ukrinform” reports on April 30 that the Latvian government has approved a new military aid package for Ukraine, which will include, among other things, close combat anti-aircraft guns and surveillance drones.

As reported by the LETA news agency, on Tuesday, April 30, in a closed session, the government supported the transfer of the National Armed Forces (NBS) air defense cannons, tactical unmanned surveillance systems, as well as other essential material and technical means to the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Prime Minister Evika Siliņa informs on Twitter (JV).

This will help improve both Ukraine’s air defense and intelligence capabilities.

Latvia annually allocates 0.25% of the gross domestic product to Ukraine’s military support, and Latvia will continue to support Ukraine both bilaterally and together with its allies, says Siliņa.

It has already been reported that helicopters, machine guns, unmanned aerial vehicles, self-propelled howitzers and other types of weaponry were previously handed over to the Ukrainians from Latvia.
