In the past 24 hours, information was received in the territory served by the Vidzeme Regional Administration of the State Police on 93 cases when residents sought help from the police or it was established that a criminal offense had occurred. 11 road traffic accidents were registered, where two persons were injured in one case. In the field of road traffic, 150 administrative violation decisions were made, including 89 for speeding, as well as in one case the car driver sat behind the wheel under the influence of alcohol.

On April 29 at 2:10 p.m., a man driving a “MAN” vehicle along the Valmiera – Rauna highway, in the direction from Valmiera to the Smiltene roundabout, did not choose a safe distance from the “VW” vehicle in front, as a result of which a collision occurred. Two persons were injured in the road traffic accident and taken to a medical facility. An administrative process has been started for the incident.

Yesterday, April 29, around 9:00 p.m., several thefts from basements were detected in Valka district, Valka. By breaking the locks, the cellars were entered, where various items were stolen. Material losses are being specified. Criminal proceedings have been initiated for the incident, the circumstances of the incident are being explained.

OFFENSES AGAINST TRAFFIC SAFETY / T/L DRIVING UNDER THE INFLUENCE OF ALC BEVERAGES

On April 29, at 7:01 p.m. in Limbaži, a man was driving a “BMW” vehicle on Rīgas Street, with a minimum breath alcohol concentration of 1.89 ppm. Criminal proceedings have been initiated for the incident.
