In that independent exposition, sound records released with the music of Raymond Paul over sixty-five years will be on display.

Last year, this collection of soundscapes, complemented by Maestro photographs by photographer Aigars Hibner, traveled all over Latvia.

Well, the exhibition has returned to Liepāja to stay. From now on, it can be viewed every working day and also on Saturdays from 12:00 to 16:00, both by residents of Liepāja and by guests of the city.

At the opening of the gallery, friends, good acquaintances, musicians and other invited guests of the music room “Vinilkoks” gathered together.

The new cultural center was repaired and desired by R. Pavlovičs with his own hands.

“From the idea to the financing and the practical works, everything here is created by our own hands,”

opened the owner of the gallery and laughingly added with humor: “That’s me from that coffin monk!” This can only be done by being in motion. I have been actively working all my life and I still cannot be at peace, sit in narrow frames.

I am glad that the music room “Vinilkoks” has become a place where different people, music lovers and friends come and meet. Here you can listen to world rock classics. I have also collected practically all Latvian music on sound discs.

I will not hide that I feel satisfaction that something good has been done.”

Last year, the last place where it was possible to see Maestro’s music sound records collected by a music collector was in Riga, in the National Library. Raimonds Pauls also visited the exhibition there and wrote in the guest book.

Now in the new “Vinilkoka” gallery, you can view Raimonda Paul’s succinctly written “Thanks to Liepāja!”.

R. Pavlovic pointed out: “Knowing Maestro’s restrained manner and rarely said thanks, I value this recording very highly!”

As in opening a gallery for a portal liepajniekiem.lv acknowledged Jānis Kalējs, the former sound director of the group “Credo”, the activity of the owner of “Vinilkoka” is both admirable and praiseworthy.

“He deserves all my chips for his performance!

For people connected with music, who love music, there is another very good point, a place in Liepāja, where to enter and be in the world of music. I think the new gallery is very elegant!”

On the other hand, the photographer Jānis Vecbrālis did not hide that knowing what the creation of the gallery required from his friend Rait: “It is not only the money he invested, but the most important thing is the energy he has already given. Rarely is a pensioner so active and dull at his age!

Now in Liepāja there is a new cultural place and a gift for all Latvians, all who love and respect the music created by the Maestro. I’d be surprised if anyone couldn’t appreciate that!”
