In the evaluation of Latvian championship club teams, “Saldus motoklubs” won the laurels in Aizpute, the “Rodeo MX” motorcycle club took second place, and the “Motosports Racing Team/Auseklis” motorcycle club took third place.

In the MX1 class, the first place was won by Uldis Freibergs (“Saldus motoklubs”), who left behind the Lithuanian athlete Domantas Jazdauskas (“Rodeo MX”) and the Estonian driver Mikk Martin Lohmus (“Hrc Estonia Racing Club”).

In a conversation with MX1 class winner Uldi Freiberg (“Saldus motoklubs”), he revealed that the competition in Aizpute was very, very successful for him. “Couldn’t ask for anything more. The day turned out perfect. I consider the opening of the “Magmum” Latvian Motocross Championship successful and very good. Everything was at a high level. I really liked the competition,” says Uldis Freibergs.

The qualification race was good for the athlete, he won it with an advantage of 0.2 seconds. This gave a big advantage going into the final race starts.

“I could choose any starting position. It was a big bonus that I earned myself in qualifying. The first trip was eventful. I drove first at the starting corner. I braked too late, causing me to go too far to the outside. I collected myself, didn’t fall over, but another 7-10 riders passed me. I continued the journey from the 15th place. During the first lap, I had fought to a 4th-5th place,” says Uldis, who won the first race.

Also in the second race, at the start of the corner, the athlete drove a little too far. As a result, Domantas Jazdauskas passed, then Toms Macuks (“Rodeo MX”) also overtook. “I continued the ride as third, then after a few laps I overtook Domantas Jazdauskas. I wouldn’t say that I am satisfied with the second place, because I want to win and be the first,” says Uldis Freibergs.

This is Ulda’s MX1 class debut as this will be his first full season in the MX1 class. “To win already in the first stage is really “WOW”. I can be happy and proud of my achievement. I hope that there will be even more drivers to match and compete with in the next ones. Thanks again to the organizers for a well-prepared track and the event as a whole. I will try to continue in this spirit for the rest of the season as well,” says Uldis Freibergs about the last stage in Aizpute.
