On Tuesday, April 23, the government supported the creation of a Digital Competence Center for the health sector to promote the development of digital health and ensure strategic management of the digital health ecosystem.

Izmaiņas paredz, ka jaunais centrs pakāpeniski savā rīcībā šīs sistēmas pārņems un nodrošinās to uzturēšanu un koordinētu attīstību.

Centru plānots veidot kā valsts kapitālsabiedrību, kurā 100% kapitāldaļu pieder valstij, un kapitāldaļu turētājs ir Veselības ministrija. Tam tiks iecelta arī valde.

No 2025. gada centram deleģēs e-veselības sistēmas pārziņa funkcijas, ko šobrīd veic Nacionālais veselības dienests (NVD) un arī pārvirzīs tam atvēlēto finansējumu. Savukārt pakāpeniski līdz 2027. gadam centrs pārņems citas veselības aprūpes sistēmas. Lai nodrošinātu zināšanu saglabāšanu nozarē, esošajiem darbiniekiem tiks piedāvāta iespēja turpināt darbu Centrā.
