Aigars Jačuks, the representative of the company “Carbon Less Future”, later explained to the newspaper that the seedlings were transferred to another place, where they will acclimatize in a natural environment, and then they will be used for afforestation of private territories in Gulbene district. As previously promised, children from preschool educational institutions will be able to participate in tree planting.
A. Yačuks said that the test mode was necessary to understand how to better adjust the conditions in the container for growing seedlings. Not all seedlings have grown equally well, but overall the result is satisfactory. During this week, in cooperation with JSC “Latvijas valsts meži”, new tree seedlings will be prepared to be placed in the Gulbenes container and so that people will once again have the opportunity to see how the new addition to the forest area is gradually sprouting in the city center. It is expected that 33,000 pine saplings will be planted, there will also be a few birches, and possibly some other trees.
How the container works, the owners can monitor remotely. A. Yačuks can see what is happening on his phone, he can turn on the device. In a container, everything works automatically. If at some point there is a power outage, nothing bad can happen even in winter conditions, because the container is insulated. On the other hand, the watering of plants, which happens automatically, must be done manually in the event of a power outage. However, this is only a theory, because in practice power outages are rare.
