“Certainly the public needs to know that there are mines and there will be mines and that mines are an integral part. Puriņš, who until now has served as the National Security Advisor to the President and the Secretary of the National Security Council.
A. Puriņš informs that, as already stated several times, in the current situation, no landmines are required to be placed on the eastern border of Latvia. “Those mines must be and they must be “at hand” – in an easily accessible way for soldiers, who can easily and quickly deploy them to create anti-mobility positions,” says the new State Secretary of the Ministry of Defense, emphasizing that the placement of such mines on the border is not necessary and is not it is also reasonable to question the competence of the Latvian army, what means are needed for the defense of the country. There are different versions of land mines designed for different purposes and they are an integral part of defensive position battles.
