The LETA agency learned from the State Fire and Rescue Service (VUGD) that a car with three people drove into a ditch in Talsi region and overturned on Friday evening.

At 10:59 p.m., firefighters and rescuers rushed to Ives Parish, Talsi County, where the car had overturned in the ditch. Two people got out of the car on their own, but one was freed by rescuers using hydraulic tools. All three people were transferred to the Emergency Medical Service.

As the LETA agency learned from the Public Relations Department of the State Police, a total of 163 road traffic accidents were registered in Latvia during the past 24 hours, a total of 19 people were injured in 16 accidents, but there were no fatalities.

Ten accidents with 11 victims were registered in the Riga region, three accidents with three victims were recorded in Latgale, two accidents with four victims were recorded in Kurzeme, and one accident with one victim occurred in Zemgale.

Among the victims are three cyclists in the Riga region and one driver of an electric scooter in the Latgale region, according to statistics collected by the police.
