From concerts to orientation games. May 4 holiday program guide

Several events will take place in Valmiera region. A folk dance concert “Youth for Valmiera” will be held at the Valmiera Culture Center at 5 p.m., organized by the youth dance collective “Sadancis”. Folk dance ensemble “Ogre”, dance ensemble “Dailrade”, folk dance ensemble “Rotaļa”, dance ensemble “Banga” and dance school “Dzirnas” will also take part in the concert.

On the other hand, at 18:00 in the Bērzaine Town Hall, the concert “May – and the air waves” will take place, where the brass band of the Valmiera Volunteer Firemen’s Association will perform. Before that, the orchestra will perform at the Kaugur Culture Center at the holiday concert “We are Latvia!” at 5 p.m.

Also, holiday concerts will be held in Burtnieki, Ēvele, Kauguri, Lode, Mazsalac, Naukšēni, Rūjiena and Vaidava. On the other hand, at 12 o’clock in Rencēni parish culture house, the exhibition of the porcelain collection of Jānis Trubačs, “Rīgas porcelāns”, will be opened.

In Tukuma, the anniversary of the restoration of independence will be celebrated with a parade in national costumes. On the other hand, at 19:00, the festive concert program “Stop, listen!” will be shown at the Tukuma City Culture House. in honor of the poet Imantas Ziedonis’ birthday. Also in Lapmežciem, the event program “Light up in Lapmežciem!” will be dedicated to Ziedonis’s work.

Singing actors Madara Botmane and Juris Jope will perform in the concert “I will take you to Kandava!” on the Kandava promenade at 1 p.m. The performance of the actors will be complemented by the leader of the accompanying group of musicians, pianist Anatolys Livcha.

On the terrace of Jaunmoku Palace at 18:00, there will be a solo concert by guitarist Mārčas Auziņš, where in addition to his own compositions, specially created arrangements for solo guitar songs composed by Zigmars Liepiņš, Imants Kalniņš and Raimonds Pauls will be played.

A festive concert will also be held at Jaunpils Palace at 7 p.m., where Zane Dombrovska and Mārcis Manjakovs will perform.

Festive concerts will also take place in Džukste Culture House, Abavnieku Stage and Lestenes Folk House. On the other hand, in Pūre’s House of Culture, from 5 p.m., you can see an exhibition of Latvian accessories, tablecloths and ceramic products.

34 years ago, on May 4, 1990, the Supreme Council of the Latvian SSR adopted the declaration “On the restoration of the independence of the Republic of Latvia”, which renewed the Constitution adopted in 1922. After five decades, the Republic of Latvia became an independent and democratic country again.
