Retailer “Lidl Latvija” has started the construction of a new “Lidl” store on Ķīšezera street, Riga, LETA agency was informed by company representatives.
The area of the store building will be approximately 2,400 square meters, while the area of the sales hall will be approximately 1,430 square meters.
The new “Lidl” store was designed by “Diānas Zalāne design office”, but the construction works will be carried out by “Selva būve”.
The company states that the greenery of the territory of the new “Lidl” store is planned, taking into account the concept of three-level and two-level greenery strips. It is planned that a total of almost 860 large shrubs and trees will be planted in the area around the store.
There is a parking lot for 135 cars on the territory of the store, seven of which will be for customers with special needs, and two parking spaces will be for families. It is also planned to install 20 bike racks.
The opening date of the new “Lidl” store and the planned investments in the company are not disclosed.
It has already been announced that “Lidl Latvija” in the financial year, which lasted from March 1, 2022 to February 28, 2023, worked with a turnover of 442.378 million euros, which is 4.4 times more than the year before, while the company’s losses decreased several times and was 3.847 million euros.
“Lidl Latvija” was registered in October 2016, and its share capital is 365.5 million euros. The sole owner of the company is the German “CE – Beteiligungs-GmbH”.
