In the future, it is planned to set stricter requirements for employment service providers, according to the draft regulations developed by the Ministry of Welfare (MoW), which was supported by the government today.
Describing the current situation, Minister of Welfare Uldis Augulis (ZZS) emphasizes that the structure of the job placement services market has changed significantly in recent years, with businessmen mostly offering labor provision services, within the framework of which labor from third countries is also actively attracted. The number of issued licenses for the provision of employment services has also tripled, while several licensees do not actually carry out the activity, which significantly complicates the process of monitoring employment services.
In his assessment, the changes in the regulatory documents for the provision of the service will promote the arrangement and self-regulation of the field of employment services, as well as ensure more effective and targeted supervision of the field.
The procedure mentioned below will determine that the state fee for obtaining an employment service provider license will be 500 euros instead of the previous 142.29 euros, the term of the license will be three years, and not unlimited as it was previously established.
Likewise, in the future, the licensee will be obliged to document the existence of (office) premises suitable for the provision of services.
