Marshall Gilks ​​is a Grammy Award-nominated American trombonist and composer who has gained recognition as an outstanding and versatile jazz musician. He studied at the Juilliard School of Music with the world’s best music educators, and was also a finalist in the Thelonius Monk International Jazz Musician Competition. His distinctive sound and innovative approach to the trombone have made him a sought-after performer on both the traditional and contemporary jazz scene. Gilks ​​has performed and collaborated with such musicians as Maria Schneider, Edmar Castañeda, Vanguard Jazz Orchestra, Duke Ellington Jazz Orchestra and many others, proving his virtuosity and versatility. Currently, Gilks ​​also plays trombone in the core lineup of the world-famous WDR Big Band.
