“Two logs. Two people. Two axes. For a long time, that’s all. Muscle power and flying splinters. How long will it take? But was it rhythm? Even syncopation? Humanity does not rest. It subdues everything. It creates, uses, gives form, destroy, change and think! It forces the unruly and conquers gravity!” Anete Dabs, curator of the FIDENA festival, said about the GIT show (Annette Dabs) in the introductory words.

Firewood roads is a physical and visual performance in which, playing with the materiality of wood, symmetry and asymmetry, the creative team talks about people and culture in a poetic way, exploring the rules of coexistence of old and new, mutual relations and development potential. A performance-mandala about man’s endless efforts to organize the world and the short-term victories in this process.

In the play, the director Andrejs Jarovojs, together with the co-authors of the play – actor Edgars Samītas, choreographer Rūdolfs Gediņas and set designer Rūdolfs Bekičus – focused on imaginative stage language, interplay of various visual signs, creating a meeting place for the imagination of artists and the audience.
