Europe Day orientation will be held in Gulbene – Gulbene district – Dzirkstele.lv

Celebrating Latvia’s 20th anniversary in the European Union, the orientation game “20 years – 20 achievements” will be held in Gulbene, Madona and Alūksne counties. Press Secretary of the European Parliament in Latvia Jānis Krastiņš informs about this.

During two months, the participants of the game will look for objects that were both implemented thanks to EU funding and related to the values ​​of the European Union. On the opening day of the orienteering game, on May 16, at the European yard festival, residents and guests of Gulbene will be able to participate in large-format outdoor games, a European picnic with young European volunteers, a panel discussion on education, as well as a quiz in the tent of the European Parliament, where they will be able to learn about their own and European values.

“Europe Direct” centers operate under the auspices of the European Commission, and their task is to inform the public about EU issues and to build a connection between EU institutions and citizens, as well as to cooperate with local organizations, implementing various projects to clarify EU issues. Currently, “Europe Direct” centers operate in: Gulbene with branches in Madon and Alūksne, Rēzekne, Daugavpils, Valmiera and Cēsis, Ventspils, Kuldīga, Jelgava and Jēkabpils.
