Referring to the announcement issued by the Food and Veterinary Service (PVD) on March 12 of this year, the Latvian pharmaceutical company “Sagitus” sent batches of “NATEO D drops FORTE” No. 262301 samples to an independent accredited laboratory in Denmark “EUROFINS” for determining the composition of vitamin D3 in this oil solution, so that the company can also verify the safety of the product. The received certificate confirms the compliance and safety of “NATEO D drops FORTE”, the LA.LV portal was informed by Janet Evers, marketing manager of “Sagitus”.

“Both our laboratory tests and the examinations ordered by PVD unanimously confirm – “NATEO D drops FORTE” are completely safe! The results of the test carried out by “EUROFINS” confirm that the amount of vitamin D3 cholecalciferol in the oil in the above-mentioned batch of the product complies with the labeling of this product, as well as with the regulatory enactments that determine the amount of the active substance in nutritional supplements,” emphasized Pēteris Zvaigzne, a member of the board of the pharmaceutical company “Sagitus”.

In the opinion distributed by PVD “NATEO D drops FORTE” (solution in oil with the indicated dose of 25µg or 1000 IU in 1 drop) with batch no. 262301 were also found to be safe, allowing their further distribution and use, company representatives said.

As LETA reported on March 28 of this year, the Food and Veterinary Service (PVD) has authorized the distribution of the nutritional supplement “Nateo D pilieni Forte”, LETA was informed by representatives of the Food and Veterinary Service.

PVD representatives explain that the nutritional supplement “Nateo D pilieni Forte” produced by SIA “Sagitus” with the batch number 262301the distribution of which was previously suspended, is allowed because the results of laboratory tests have confirmed the safety of the product.

It has already been announced that on March 12 this year, the Ministry of Health reported that the service ordered the suspension of the distribution of the dietary supplement “Nateo D drops Forte”.

The relevant decision was taken by the Ministry of Health, because a report was received from the Children’s Clinical University Hospital about several cases of vitamin D intoxication in children, which were associated with the use of this vitamin.
