Monday, May 13, at 18.00 Daugavpils Culture Palace (Smilšu Street 92) will host the concert “Another step in the dance”.
Daugavpils Children’s classical dance studio “AntreDance” (director Rasita Titkova), students of the Riga Ballet School of “National Arts High School” (teacher Baiba Kokina) and soloist Laura Zuģicka (vocals) take part in the concert.
Tickets: Daugavpils at the Palace of Culture box office (weekdays at 16.00-19.00) and Ticket Paradise box offices. Price: 3.00 euros.
Ballet studio “AntreDance” It has been operating in Daugavpils since 1985, and its manager since the beginning is Rasita Titkova. Rasita herself discovered her love for ballet while at school in Daugavpils, visiting a ballet studio with teacher Marika Stumbres. In the future, Rasita supplemented her knowledge in choreography in Kaliningrad, after which, returning to Daugavpils, the young specialist began teaching at the Varavīksne studio.
Over the years, under the guidance of Rasita Titkova, several hundred girls have learned the art of dancing and the ability to stand on pointe. Several of them have already become educators themselves and work with children and young people.
Riga Ballet School students learn the art of dance from teacher Baiba Kokina. Her hometown is Daugavpils, where once as a little girl Baiba was brought to lessons at the ballet studio “AntreDance”. In 2002 Baiba graduated from Riga Choreography High School and has been dancing for 20 years on the stage of the Latvian National Opera and Ballet, played several leading roles in performances such as “Bayadera”, “Enchanted Princess”, “Swan Lake”, “Raymonda” etc. She has twice become a laureate of the theater award “Spielmanu nats”.
The concert is organized by the structural unit “Latvian and Latgalian Culture Center” of the municipal institution “Vienības nams” of Daugavpils state city.
