The prayer began at 11 a.m. at Riga’s St. James Cathedral and will end around 1 p.m. in Cathedral Square. This year, words from the Gospel of John have been chosen as the prayer motto.

This year, Latvia’s NATO allies are also very widely represented at the Crossroads. “Soldiers are the first to face evil. There are no unbelievers in the trenches,” said theologian Guntis Kalme.
