Along with the platform brother Renault Captur, the Mitsubishi ASX also went through the modernization process.

The latest generation Mitsubishi ASX model arrived relatively recently – in 2022, but following the example of the Renault Captur, the Japanese crossover is also ready for further life. While it will technically still be a Captur, getting the same body panels, Mitsubishi fans will recognize theirs by the original front design with the narrow upper grille that includes the company logo. The hood tag is flatter, the design of the lights has been changed, and the lower grill has increased in size and acquired a trapezoidal shape. At the back, there are almost no differences from the Renault twin, so you should pay attention to the luggage door and the printed letters with the words CAPTUR (Renault) and MITSUBISHI (Mitsubishi).

In the cabin, the differences from the Captur are only related to the emblem: the ASX has the same new vertically oriented touch screen with a 10.25-inch diagonal in the center, a 10-inch instrument panel, and the multimedia system supports Google services, voice assistant, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The sliding rear seat is also borrowed from the French, which can increase the 332-liter luggage space by 69 liters if it is moved forward.

Updated driver assistance systems now include collision warning with emergency braking, including pedestrian and cyclist detection, active lane keeping assist, automatic cruise control with speed limiter, high beam assist, lane departure warning, while rear parking sensors and a reversing camera are now standard on all models .

The most expensive packages can also include the MI Pilot technology, which combines the active lane following assistant with the adaptive automatic cruise control, partially entrusting the driving to the electronics. 360-degree cameras and exit sensors are also available, and there is a button to the left of the steering wheel that allows you to configure the warning signals and information and turns off the annoying beeps when the speed limit is exceeded.

The engines are no different from the Captur: a 1.0-liter turbo engine with 90 horsepower and a 1.3-liter turbo engine with 12 V hybrid technology in 140 or 160 hp versions, as well as a full-fledged 143 hp hybrid with a tandem of a 1.6-liter atmospheric internal combustion engine and an electric motor.

The updated Renault Captur and Mitsubishi ASX will be produced in the Spanish city of Valladolid. Estimated price – from around 25,000 euros.
