Without mentioning the person’s name, the prosecutor’s office previously informed the agency LETA that the pro-Kremlin activist was accused of purposefully justifying and glorifying the war waged by Russia in Ukraine, as well as of actions aimed at inciting national hatred and discord between residents of different nationalities in Latvian society.
According to the indictment, the defendant purposefully and systematically disseminated messages in line with the interests of the Kremlin, expressing support for Russia’s military might, as well as glorifying and glorifying Russia, to an unlimited number of persons on the Internet on freely accessible platforms.
The defendant created this type of content over several months, thereby strengthening the audience’s belief in the correctness of Russia’s actions in invading Ukraine and committing war crimes.
In addition, the accused also distributed information on the Internet with content aimed at inciting hatred and discord between population groups of different nationalities, specifically, Latvians, Russians and Ukrainians.
Linderman’s lawyer Yelena Kwiatkovski told LETA after the indictment that her client pleaded not guilty.
The case was investigated by the State Security Service (VDD) before being handed over to the prosecutor’s office, which previously informed that the criminal proceedings had started on June 7, 2022.
