The exposition tells about the everyday life of the inhabitants of the Kurzeme coast and reflects the life of Latvian, Libyan farmers and fishermen. More than 300 items from the museum’s collection can be seen in the exhibition.

The digital elements of the exhibition visually express how fishing boats and juma roofs were made, while the small witty animations inform about farm work. An exposition of the nature of Northern Kurzeme has also been created – a diorama with the most characteristic animals and birds whose voices can be heard, creating the presence of a real forest.

Walking in the outdoor area of the museum is complemented by a mobile app that can be downloaded when visiting the museum.

Take a look at the evidence of the past, how the building looked before and how it is now. It can best be appreciated in person.
