The past week was blessed with spring-like sunny weather, several additional holidays and also various cultural events, most of which were related to the anniversary of the restoration of Latvia’s independence. The series “Music in Riga Palace” continued with the performance of Ilona Bagele and the jazz orchestra “Mirāža”, the 4th of May march “Put on a national costume in honor of Latvia” took place in Old Riga, and the concert “Citādi ceļi” was played in Rātslaukum. Last week, the laureates of the Latvian Literary Award of the Year were also welcomed, the British rapper Dizijs Raksals visited Palladium, and a new pop-up exhibition dedicated to current Latvian design processes was opened at the Museum of Decorative Arts and Design. Diemžēl 21. gs. runāt par dabu nozīmē nevis baudīt ainavu, nevis cīkstēties ar to, bet runāt par visus apdraudošām klimata pārmaiņām, ekoloģiju, dabas negausīgu patērēšanu ar tehnoloģiju palīdzību, cilvēka un dabas aplamajām attiecībām, kurās Homo sapiens savu ērtību dēļ ignorē visu pārējo sugu izdzīvošanas vajadzības.
