One of the most vivid episodes was the moment when Sipeniece-Gavare said at the beginning of the expedition: she is afraid that “another Baiba will appear”. Asked to clarify what exactly she had in mind, the beloved TV personality says:
“I was afraid that I would go outside the box, because in very critical situations I sometimes lost control, stopped being tolerant. There have been a couple of cases that resonated loudly. When I reach a critical point, I turn into a volcano.”
As an example, she cites the events of 2014 in Ukraine. “When Crimea was snooped on Ukraine in 2014, when I saw that my brothers from the position continued to give concerts in Russia, I couldn’t pretend I didn’t see it and refused to talk to them and play their music during my broadcast. But when the war started and I saw that even now these the band’s concerts in Russia have not been cancelled, I can’t keep quiet anymore.”
Sipeniece states that physical exhaustion during the expedition could have caused certain chemical reactions. “I was afraid of losing control and becoming intolerant for no reason.
I really like restrained people precisely because I am not one myself.
The expedition was often underpowered. And the heavy bag on the shoulders… But, you know, it was right – you have to carry that bag for a reason. Because when it pushes, you involuntarily start thinking about how much you carry in your life: emotions, memories, resentment.”
It has already been reported that TV and radio personality Baiba Sipeniece-Gavare, radio voice and event manager Kaspars Breidaks, rapper Prusax, Tomas Pildegović, senior expert of the NATO Strategic Communication Excellence Center (Stratcom), influencer Roy Rogers, singer Boo, mountain skier Kristaps Zvejnieks took part in the hike. and “900 seconds” moderator, host Kristīne Garklāva.
