Last year, an energetic music video by the Swedish group Amon Amarth was made there, in which several local people also took part. Among them was also Gatis Tennyson, who now remembers filming as a very interesting adventure.

Gatis got the role in the clip by applying for an ad in the corresponding Facebook group, and his appearance at that time was important there – long hair and a beard. No less important requirement was physical endurance, because the filming of the clip was active – it was 3 intensive working days from morning to evening.

“At first we weren’t even told which group had the clip (I only realized later that the voices seemed familiar), we also couldn’t take pictures, the rules were strict, but the atmosphere on the set was very free and friendly. In “Cineville” there was a pub room where the Vikings’ victory was celebrated – everyone celebrated, rejoiced, drank beer and feasted. By the way, all the food was available to the team and they could also enjoy real beer. At that time, I even regretted a little that I had gone to the filming location by car,” recalls Gatis.

The scope with which everything happened remained in his mind. Care was felt for all those present – meals were paid for, symbolic “pocket money” was also paid to cover transportation expenses. At the same time, the filming work was very professional – many operators were local – from Latvia, drones and other modern technological possibilities were also used.

Stuntmen also participated in the filming of the clip. The opportunity to participate in such an event seemed really great.

The clip was filmed in “Cinevilla” and also on the banks of the Gauja River. Previously, Gatis had only been to “Cineville” on excursions: “I was there for the first time while filming, I was surprised how well everything was set up, how authentic the atmosphere was.”

The owner of “Cinevilla” Andrejs Īkis is also pleased that the advantages of our cinema city are appreciated not only by local people, but also by foreigners: “I personally think this place is unique, a lot of work has been invested in its creation, so I am glad from the bottom of my heart that people like to come here only as tourists, but also to realize their creative ideas.”

Amon Amarth is a Swedish metal band formed in 1992. Their lyrics mostly refer to Viking mythology and history, which is why they are sometimes mistakenly labeled as “Viking metal”, although the band prefers the term melodic death metal.

The director of the mentioned clip is Pavel Trebuhin, the producer is Deniss Kotegov.
