“Astronauts” Latvianized their anthem dedicated to the Latvian hockey team

The group “Astro’n’out” has dedicated a song to the progress of the Latvian hockey team in the world championship – the song “Mūs neapturēs” is a version created this year of the official song “For Glory and Joy” of the 2021 World Hockey Championship. This time – in Latvian.

Three years ago, the group “Astro’n’out” created the official song of the 2021 Ice Hockey World Championship “For Glory and Joy”. This spring, the Latvian version of the song was released, which was played for the first time in “Arena Rīga” on May 3, before the test match of the national teams of Latvia and Norway.

“We hope that we gave a small drop of inspiration to our hockey team with the song “For Glory and Joy”, while the team, with last year’s success, inspired us and the whole of Latvia to believe in their own strength and strive for ever greater goals. We feel that this success imperceptibly left a mark on the self-consciousness of all of us, and our arena concert was also a continuation of this “Latvians can” feeling in us,” thinks the leader of the “astronauts” Māra Upmane-Holštein.

“The lyrics of the song were inspired by the bright careers of our best national team players. They have proven that a person’s potential is best realized when willpower, grit and talent are combined with amazing work ability and love for one’s country. At the same time, it is a call to all young athletes to believe in themselves and their dreams. By defeating yourself, you can also defeat any opponent! Let’s follow the progress of our national team in the Czech Republic and keep our fingers crossed that bronze is just the beginning!” its ‘Astro’n’out’.

The lyric video for the song “Mūs neuptarēs” was made by Liva Jaakobsone. The video uses Kristaps Mozgir’s video footage and the fan video from the national team’s welcome ceremony sent to the Latvian Hockey Federation. The authors of the lyrics in Latvian are Māra Upmane-Holšteine ​​and Arnis Rachinskis, the music was created by “astronauts”, Arnis Rachinskis, DJ Rudd and Andis Ansons.
