The scene begins with profound anxiety. It is based on the lack of regular ice cream. After the expected treat is not received, several questions arise.

“The child did not get his daily ice cream, which is promised and always given. You have to spend a day walking in the forest without ice cream and that is very difficult to understand.”

The daughter’s questions and the mother’s answers lead to the cause of the problem, the lack of money.

“These are important questions that are examined from the child’s point of view, how it can happen at all, and from the adult’s point of view, how to communicate such things with the child in a language he understands,” says actress Maija Doveika.

The show “What’s in Mom’s Bag” is based on a popular children’s book of the same name.

The director of the show, Anta Priedīte, explains that mom’s bag is where every thing has its own story. Mom carries the bag alone, it is also told and talked about: “Maybe it is not so much that mom or dad is important, but that the parent is alone. Of course, the bag that one parent has to carry is always heavier than if there are two of them.”

The show is designed for the whole family. Although this is called a children’s show, those parents who will follow what is happening on stage will not be bored.

“Parents have also bought tickets for themselves, they deserve to get the layer that is for adults. At the same time, children will perceive it as a children’s show,” says the director.

There’s plenty going on in the jungle scene of ice cream shortages and fancy. During them, even the pumpkin has to be punished for pretending. On the other hand, the lack of ice cream and money is replaced by the fruits of inexhaustible fantasy.
