Old tank and armored vehicles. The May 9 parade in Russia was conducted modestly

--

The parade lasted less than an hour, about 9,000 people took part in it.

It also displayed armored vehicles, armored personnel carriers and missile complexes.

The parade ended with the flyover of nine military planes over Moscow.

The event was attended by the presidents of Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Belarus, Laos, Guinea-Bissau and Cuba, independent media “Meduza” reports.

In his speech, Russian dictator Vladimir Putin addressed the veterans of the Second World War and the “heroes” of “special military operations” (that’s how he still calls the war he started against Ukraine), congratulating them on “the nation’s holy holiday.”

Putin then started insulting the West, claiming that they were trying to distort the truth about the Second World War, as it allegedly prevented the West from building its “colonial policy” based on “hypocrisy and lies”.

He complained about the demolition of monuments dedicated to Russian “liberators” in a number of European countries and accused Western countries of revanchism.

The dictator also emphasized that Russia will not allow anyone to threaten it, and reminded that Russia’s strategic nuclear weapons are always ready for battle.

May 9, or the so-called Victory Day parades took place in 25 Russian cities on Thursday.

The parade takes place again this year at a time when Russia continues its full-scale war against Ukraine.
