This year, the EURES labor mobility consultants of the European employment services network of the State Employment Agency (NVA) in cooperation with their colleagues from other European countries continue to create the series of online programs “Learn before you go. Safe work guide in Europe” to inform about the European Union (EU) and the European Economic Area ( EEA) labor market, promoting awareness of safe work opportunities in Europe. The sixth program of the cycle, dedicated to the Spanish labor market, will be shown on May 23 at 16.00 Latvian time on the EURES Latvia Facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/eureslatvia).

NVA EURES consultant Andris Seglins in conversation with Spanish EURES consultant Rafael Peres García (Rafael Pérez García) will explain what the working and living conditions are in this country, what specialists are required, how to create a CV and write a motivation letter, how employment contracts are concluded and what documents are needed when starting employment in Spain. Broadcast followers of the show EURES Latvia Facebook you will be able to ask questions in the comments section of the page, as well as agree on a remote consultation.

On May 1, 2024, 20 years have passed since Latvia joined the European Union and the State Employment Agency became part of the EURES network, contributing to the promotion of the free movement of labor in EU countries, Switzerland, Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway. Over 20 years, EURES Latvia provided more than 220,000 consultations on safe work in Europe, remigration issues and support for attracting employees from European countries. Today, Europe Day, we are also holding an online seminar on EURES services on the Zoom video conferencing platform. Starting tomorrow, May 10, we will resume online chat on the European job mobility portal. Every working Friday from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m., interested parties will be able to ask questions and receive answers from NVA EURES consultants on the European labor mobility portal about the employment situation, working and living conditions, as well as about taxes and social guarantees in Latvia and other European countries,” informs Līga Baufale, the project manager of the Labor Market Department of the NVA – EURES coordinator.
