Some media reported that the plane was a “Boeing 737-38J”.

Reuters could not verify this video.

The airport said in a statement that it had activated emergency protocols to evacuate passengers.

Currently, it is known that at least 11 passengers were injured.

“For the time being, the airport is closed… The airport is expected to reopen within the next few hours,” the statement added.

On May 8, the “FedEx Express” cargo plane “Boeing 767”, arriving from Paris, landed with the front landing gear retracted at the Istanbul airport.

The flight crew attempted to resolve the problem before the decision was made to land with the front landing gear retracted.

“FedEx Express” flight “FX6238” had arrived at Istanbul Airport (IST) from Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport (CDG). The problem occurred during the landing phase.

The aircraft made a low-level approach to the airport tower after noticing that the front landing gear was not extended.
