In India, four people have been detained on suspicion of luring Indians to war in Ukraine, who were apparently offered jobs and opportunities to study in Russia.

35 people have become victims of the detainees, the Central Bureau of Investigation of India said.

According to the media, the Indians were promised a high salary and the acquisition of Russian citizenship, and it was also claimed that they would not have to take weapons in their hands.

The Indians are preparing for the fact that they will receive a military rank that is not related to participation in battles, relatives told reporters.

However, they were trained in how to handle a machine gun and sent to the front in Ukraine, the media reports.

According to the AFP news agency, at least two Indians who fought in the ranks of the Russian army have died in Ukraine.

According to India’s Central Bureau of Investigation, among those detained are a translator who worked in Russia, a person who was involved in issuing visas and buying air tickets, as well as two “main recruiters” who worked in the southern states of India – Kerala and Tamil Nadu.

India’s Ministry of External Affairs previously reported that it was working to bring back 20 people serving in the Russian army to India.
