The Russian army fired rockets into the Ukrainian city of Odesa on Monday night, killing at least four people and injuring 32, Ukraine’s State Emergency Service and the city’s mayor said.

Four civilians were killed in the attack – three women and one man.

Among the injured are two children – a five-year-old girl with a bruised chest and a 16-year-old teenager with moderate injuries, Oleh Kiper, the head of the state administration of Odesa region, said.

The mayor of Odesa, Henadiy Trukhanov, said that most of the victims were walking along the Black Sea coast during the attack.

Of the 32 injured, 25 have been hospitalized, including two children and a pregnant woman. Six of the injured adults are in intensive care.

The strike caused damage to residential buildings and civilian infrastructure. The Student Palace of the Odessa Law Academy was hit, which residents call “Harry Potter’s Castle” due to the unusual shape of the building.

The strike is believed to have been carried out by a ballistic missile equipped with cluster munitions.
