We previously reported that Alejandro Otero from Florida was thoroughly scared and worried when he learned on the afternoon of March 8 that an object of unknown origin had suddenly crashed into his house.
The object that crashed into the man’s house weighed less than a kilogram.
NASA has finally come out with a statement about what it was about the object that fell on the man’s house out of the blue, reports “UPI”.
NASA has conducted an investigation and confirmed the previously published information. Debris from the International Space Station, or as they called it, debris, fell on the man’s house.
The cylindrical object fell on the roof of Alejandro’s house on March 8. Upon learning of the incident, NASA took the object of unknown origin to investigate and find out what it was. The space agency confirms that it is debris from the International Space Station, or more precisely, a depleted nickel hybrid battery that was “discarded” in March 2021.
According to NASA, this debris was not expected to reach Earth, but to burn up completely upon entering the Earth’s atmosphere.
NASA said an investigation would be conducted to “determine the cause of the debris’ survival.”
