Zelenskiy admitted to the US broadcasting company “CBS” that a new Russian counterattack is expected in May or June, but that Ukraine needs the help of its allies now.

Zelensky also admitted to “CBS” that without American help, Ukraine will not be able to win the war against Russia. Ukraine is said to be in dire need of US air defense systems.

On the other hand, Germany has announced new military aid to Ukraine. It includes unmanned aerial vehicles, demining equipment, ammunition, vehicles, weapons, camouflage equipment and a satellite communication system. “Patriot” missiles are also on the announced aid list.

Meanwhile, last night, Russia again carried out a large-scale air strike against Ukraine, whose forces managed to shoot down 84 out of 99 drones and missiles, the Ukrainian Air Force Command announced.

Managed to shoot down 26 out of 39 Russian missiles and 58 out of 60 Shahed attack drones. The objects of the Ukrainian fuel and energy industry were the targets of the mass strike.

As a result of the attack, several energy facilities were damaged in the Dnipropetrovsk region, six people were injured.

A drone hit a private house in Vinnytsia region, no one was hurt. On the other hand, in the Cherkasy region, rockets hit an energy infrastructure object.

Russia’s unjustified and unprovoked large-scale invasion of Ukraine began on February 24, 2022, the Kremlin’s propaganda brazenly promised to capture Kyiv in three days, but the selfless and strong resistance of the Ukrainians prevented the Kremlin from realizing its plans.

After the setbacks, the Kremlin withdrew the army from the Kyiv region, but continued the offensive in other regions. In the summer of 2023, Ukraine launched a counter-offensive, but it was not successful, and Kyiv blamed it both on the insufficient supply of weapons from the Western allies, as well as the extensive defense lines and extensive minefields created by the Russian army.
