The Stars announced one final lineup change before Game 7 against the Vegas Golden Knights on Sunday.
Center Radek Faksa returned to the lineup for the first time since Game 2 and replaced Ty Dellandrea, who scored the game-winning goal in Game 4. Faksa started the game on a line with Sam Steel and Craig Smith.
Faksa suffered an undisclosed injury during the third period of Game 2 at American Airlines Center and was ruled out for the next three games. In Friday’s Game 6, Faksa was an option and participated in warmups but was ultimately a healthy scratch.
Dallas’ fourth line has been one of its best at tilting the ice this series. The success has carried over from the end of the regular season when Faksa, Steel and Smith all skated together. That line had not played a postseason game together before Sunday.
Faksa skated in 74 regular season games and recorded 19 points (seven goals and 12 assists).
Mason Marchment and Jani Hakanpää are still out with injuries.
Stars coach Pete DeBoer made some other adjustments to the lines as well, moving rookie Logan Stankoven to the first line in place of Joe Pavelski.
The lines to open the game looked like this:
Robertson-Hintz-Stankoven
Dadonov-Duchene-Seguin
Benn-Johnston-Pavelski
Fax-Steel-Smith
Harley-Heiskanen
Lindell-Tanev
Suter-Lundqvist
Oettinger
